String Orchestra

Hello, Strings Attached family (former and current)!

I hope this email finds everyone enjoying the summer and looking forward to the school year.

This year is going to be a historic year for TCSS, not only because of COVID-19, but also because this will be the first year in the history of our school system that STRING ORCHESTRA will be offered at ALL THREE OF OUR MIDDLE SCHOOLS!!!

This is such an incredible opportunity for our young string musicians to have instruction EVERY DAY as part of the regular middle school curriculum, and I hope that many of our students will take advantage of this--even if they did not initially continue in the program.

I am very excited that I have the opportunity to be the Gardner Newman Middle School orchestra teacher, and the orchestra teacher for Callaway Middle School and Long Cane Middle School will be announced soon.

TO SIGN UP FOR ORCHESTRA, email the registrar at your child's MIDDLE school:

Please do not hesitate to email me with any questions you might have as well. I hope that some of our former SA students might decide to take another shot at playing strings (I quit and started over myself back in the day), or perhaps try a NEW stringed instrument!

If you are a current Strings Attached member who is still in elementary school, we will be sending SA information in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if YOU know of a middle schooler who might be interested in learning to play VIOLIN, VIOLA, CELLO or BASS, please tell that person to SIGN UP!!

Thank you so much, and I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the summer!

AND FOR YOUR LISTENING PLEASURE -- Sheku Kanneh-Mason playing Hallelujah.
