Soaring Eagles Named


Berta Weathersbee Elementary School recently inducted new members as Soaring Eagles for the 2017-2018 school year. Soaring Eagles are students that are recognized for their character. They must possess qualities such as respect for themselves, peers, and teachers, as well as take pride in their self, school, and community. Soaring Eagles are honest, responsible, patient, and practice self control. Congratulations to these outstanding students!

Berta Talks Lexile

TCSS Hosting Certified Career Fair on Feb. 3rd Career Fair

Troup County School System is looking for qualified teachers, SLP's, and to fill other certified positions. Areas of immediate interest are in the critical fields of Math, Science, CTAE, and Special Education. There are interviews on the spot for those that qualify!

Holiday Program and Family Reading Night

Students, families and staff recently enjoyed a Family Reading Night and Holiday Program at Berta Weathersbee Elementary School. After enjoying a holiday performance from the school chorus, kindergarten students, Berta Steppers and cheerleaders, families participated in a variety of reading activities. In addition to make-your-own bookmarks in the art room and BINGO for Books in the Media Center, students and families were treated to a visit and a free book from the Jungle Bus.


Students Helpers Come to Berta

Troup High School students taking an early childhood development class recently came to Berta Weathersbee Elementary School to work with kindergartners on a holiday project. The volunteers helped students create a festive snowman out of paper plates and construction paper.




Million Minute Reading Challenge Million Minutes


Can we do it? Together, we can! We have recently been challenged to read 1,00,000 minutes by the end of the school year. The Million Minute Reading Challenge helps promote a love of reading while increasing reading stamina in students. Students will be rewarded for minutes logged with prizes and special events. Keep up the good work Berta Readers!
