03/16/18: Budget Email Address Open

Troup County School System (TCSS) is currently preparing Performance Based Budgets for FY2019. For the last few years, the community has given suggestions and asked relevant budget-related questions via email during this process.

Beginning now, community members can send budget inquires and suggestions to to inquire about the TCSS FY2019 budget. Responses will be posted on within 5-7 business days.

The email address will remain open until Friday, April 13th.

Dernell Stenson Scholarship Applications Now Available

For the sixth consecutive year, the Dernell Renauld Stenson Foundation is providing scholarship opportunities to high school seniors. In addition, for the fifth year in a row, The Foundation also announced it will provide STEM awards to elementary and middle school students.

Black History Program


The red carpet was recently rolled out at Berta Weathersbee Elementary School! In honor of Black History Month, students, families, and staff were treated to a star-studded extravaganza, "The Black History Awards: A Red Carpet Affair." In addition to performances from the Berta Cheerleaders, Berta Steppers and Berta Dance Team, attendees were treated to performances from students portraying a wide variety of famous African Americans. Pictured are students portraying Micheal Jackson and George Washington Carver.


Mama Jama Visits!

To kick off their spring book fair, students at Berta Weathersbee Elementary School recently enjoyed being entertained by beloved LaGrange storyteller Mama Jama. Mama Jama, who was welcomed with a performance by the Berta cheerleaders, entertained the students and reminded them of the importance of reading.


Million Minute Reading Challenge Million Minutes


Can we do it? Together, we can! We have recently been challenged to read 1,00,000 minutes by the end of the school year. The Million Minute Reading Challenge helps promote a love of reading while increasing reading stamina in students. Students will be rewarded for minutes logged with prizes and special events. Keep up the good work Berta Readers!
