Girls In Pearls Night Out Girls In Pearls

Our first ever "Girls Night Out" event took place this Friday! 21 of our 3rd and 4th grade girls were treated to dinner at Mighty Joe's and then were taken to see the new movie "A Wrinkle In Time." They had a great time! All of this was made possible from our BBQ fundraiser and through donations from our GoFundMe page. Our 5th grade "Girls Night Out" is coming up in 2 weeks and we are still working hard to reach our goal to fund that event. If you would like to help make this event possible for some very deserving girls please click the link below to make a donation to our GoFundMe page. Thank you to everyone that has donated so far! Go Rockets!!! #WRESstrong

Building Relationships Through Basketball Basketball 2018

WRES Basketball & Relationships

The WRES basketball season came to a close with All-Star games between Whitesville Road, Berta and Long Cane Elementary schools. Lots of excitement filled the WRES gym with sounds of cheers throughout each game. Step teams and cheerleaders performed during halftimes while basketball teams hustled up and down the court to work towards bringing a victory for their team!

A HUGE thank you to the WRES faculty/staff for your support of the 2018 basketball season. We could not have pulled it off without the assistance of each of you. Whether coaching, shopping for and/or working concessions, assisting in stands, score keeping, refereeing, announcing/DJing, taking pics or simply coming to a game to show your support—you are appreciated!

Additionally, a BIG thank you to Berta and Long Cane for joining us for the All-Star games. A special thanks to Dr. Whittaker, (a Rigor, Relevance & Relationship Executive Coach for ICLE) for coming out to support this event as we continue to work on building relationships throughout TCSS. #wresSTRONG

Girls in P.E.A.R.L.S. Fundraiser

Our Girls In P.E.A.R.L.S program was established in October of 2017 at Whitesville Road Elementary. We started this program as a way to bring a sense of "Sisterhood" to our girls. Our girls meet weekly for lunch and discuss certain topics that not only pertain to them and what issues they face at school but also issues that they may face daily in the community. This program offers them an outlet and a group of sisters that they know are here to listen and help any way they can. This week they were able to use that sense of "sisterhood" to come together and sponsor a very successful BBQ Fundraiser for their "Girls Night Out" Event coming up at the end of March. Girls In Pearls would like to say thank you to Sloppy Pig Catering for their help with the sale and also Electrical Technicians Inc. for their purchase! Our girls were also able to donate 12 lunches to the staff and nurses at LaGrange Hospice.
